Cindy Coats Gallery

Big Island Guide Travel Guide

Cindy Coats appreciation of color started as a child growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Influenced by the intense landscapes and the southwest Navajo, Hopi, Ute and Zuni ancient artistry styles, her work today echoes some of these tribal designs and techniques. Fans of her tropical folk-art style describe her work as colorful, whimsical and vibrant.

This internationally, influential artist first opened her gallery along Kona’s Ali’i Drive in 2008. It has a beautiful waterfront location and is a must stop if you are in downtown Kona. Cindy works with a range of mediums. Her renderings, inspired by the Big Island and her adopted poi dogs, pop with the colors of the rainbow: bright turquoise, red, blue, yellow and green.
