Gypsea Gelato

Big Island Guide Travel Guide

Gypsea Gelato now has three locations around the Big Island, and it is no surprise that they have grown. They have their original shop in Kealakekua, then they opened their second store in Kailua-Kona, and then recently added a store in the King’s Shops.

Their gelato is always delicious and there are lots of flavors to choose from. They give you a good sized spoonful when you ask to sample, plus prices are reasonable and the servings are generous.

The staff is passionate about their work – they make all of their treats from scratch, capitalizing on the tropical flavors of the island – mango, passionfruit, macadamia nut, and many more. You’ll also find the classics here, from chocolate to coffee and cookies and cream to fruit sherbet. Everything tastes sublime, so you’ll want to stop by several times to tryout another flavor during your Big Island stay.

Delightfully delicious and quality is always on point. You will appreciate the heart and creativity that goes into every batch they are cleverly crafted and beautifully executed. Their local flavors highlight the bounty of the island. This is the real deal; tastes just like the gelato in Italy. Make the effort to have a refreshing treat at Gypsea Gelato before you end your Big Island vacation.
