Hauoli Place

Big Island Guide Travel Guide

Nestled within the native Ohia rain forest, Hauoli Place Cottage is a perennial favorite of repeat travelers to eastern Hawaii. Hauoli Place’s central location allows quick access to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The cottage is decorated with a fun tiki theme that harkens back to old Hawaii.

Aspiring cooks can walk to the nearby Sunday Farmer’s market to choose the freshest in organic groceries and utilize the fully-equipped kitchen to prepare fresh island meals! The kitchen comes loaded with the basics for cooking appliances, a standard-sized gas stove, an oven, and a refrigerator with basic pantry items: oil, vinegar, sugar, coffee and tea, and water. Visitors can choose to brew a cup of their favorite beverage with either the tea kettle or the drip coffee maker and enjoy a quiet morning on the lanai (porch).

The bedroom contains a queen-size bed while the pull-out sofa in the living area also has a queen-size mattress. The cottage is stocked with bath towels, board games, guidebooks and magazines for guest’s convenience. Step outside the French doors in the living room and onto the wrap-around Lanai equipped with a gas grill to host a relaxing mini-BBQ. Guests can enjoy a romantic evening by the fire pit, under starry Hawaiian night skies. There is a lava rock gas burning fireplace as well as a hand-carved koa bar to provide the ultimate cozy experience.

Hau’oli Place (Happy Place) is a fantastic getaway spots for families or couples to book while planning a trip to explore the Volcano area.
