South Kona Artists Collective

South Kona Artists Collective is a group of professional artists, including painters, potters, photographers, assemblage sculptors, jewelers, printmakers, woodworkers, fiber and mosaic artists, who share their work through an annual studio tour and exhibitions on Hawaii Island. They typically hold an annual Artist Studio Tour each February. Due to concerns about Covid, they will be holding an online art auction in 2021 instead.

The 2021 SOKO Art Auction

You’re invited to the SOKO Art Auction! Since we can’t be together for our studio tour this year, we are delighted to bring the creations of our artists to you in the comfort of your home. We hope you’ll enjoy browsing and buying from the broad selection of art available including prints, paintings, collages, fiber, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and photography and handmade home decor accessories.  Opening bids range from $15 to $750.

The auction site opens February 1 so you can browse and create your wish list. Please check out the beautiful works of art that will be available during the auction. Browse Now

Bidding will open at 9 am HST on Saturday, February 13, and close at 12 pm HST on Saturday, February 20.

Important Notes on Bidding
Anyone can bid, but they will need to set up an account to do so.  As with any auction, they will need to enter a credit card to secure their bids, but nothing will be charged until the auction closes, and then only if they win an item.  When people bid, a “tip” field will be included on the bidding page. Betterworld (the platform hosting our auction) keeps their services free to use by generating revenue through this tip line.  One can tip with each bid, wait to tip only on their final bid, or opt out of tipping completely – any of these options is totally fine and does not affect the standing of your bid.

After the Auction
For those of you participating in the auction, you will be contacted, by the artists, after the auction closes. The artist will gather your contact information and arrange for shipping (and the cost of shipping) directly.
