Big Island Lava Boat Tours
No visit to the Big Island is complete without heading out to see molten lava. There are many ways to see the flows but a Lava Boat tour is a real treat.
Located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park near the Kilauea Visitor Center, Volcano Art Center features both traditional and contemporary work inspired by Hawaii’s unique environment and rich cultural heritage.
Housed in the original 1877 Volcano Inn, the location serves as a welcoming backdrop for the finely-crafted furniture of native woods, hand-blown glass, jewelry featuring precious and semiprecious stones and metals, and an outstanding collection of two and three-dimensional works in paint, photography, clay, fiber and mixed media.
The gallery also focuses on Hula Arts. Since 1980 the center has continually sponsored a variety of award-winning activities and workshops sponsored in part by the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the County of Hawaii Department of Research and Development.
The Volcano Art Center is where people, art & nature meet!

Boasting the only Hawaii golf course to be located on an active volcano, Volcano Golf and Country Club is a local favorite for a reason.
Thurston Lava Tube, dating back 350-500 years is an exemplar example of the many lava caves on the Big Island formed by continual volcanic activity.
