Waikoloa Beach & King’s Courses

Big Island Guide Travel Guide

The Waikoloa Beach and King’s Courses are two of the most popular Public courses on the Big Island. The Beach Course opened in 1981 and is smack on the ocean, it was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and has a yardage of over 6,566. It has a slope rating of 130 and a USPGA rating of 72.7; the course also includes wide fairways, large greens, and low-lying bunkers. This favorable set up increases golfers chances of getting a low score when they play.

The Waikoloa Kings Course has a yardage of 7,000, a slope rating of 133 and a USPGA rating of 75.2. The course is perfect for players of differing skill levels, due to the availability of many tee levels. The course was designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish and opened to the public in 1990. The finishing holes 17 and 18 are the signature holes on this course and provides a great challenge to players who want to finish on a high.

Both courses include driving ranges for golfers to practice and a fully equipped pro shop for all golfing equipment and clothing. There are also two top-quality restaurants located on the courses.
