Enjoy the Art of Hula at the Merrie Monarch Festival
Visiting Hilo during the annual Merrie Monarch Festival is a wonderful opportunity to explore and enjoy traditional Hawaiian hula, arts and crafts, music, and fun local events.
Cronies Bar & Grill serves the best burgers, appetizers, steaks, sandwiches, salads, draft beers, cocktails, and more. It’s by far the best spot in Hilo to watch your favorite team and grab a beer. The sandwiches are very good and go well with a decent selection of local and domestic beers both on tap and bottled. Good value, good atmosphere, and a super convenient downtown Hilo location with lots of shopping nearby and parking space makes for a great, quick lunch or dinner spot during your adventures.
Expansive hours, reliable pub food, and a good selection of beers are the strengths here. Typical sports bar decor abounds, as does the crowd during events, but you and your party can easily find a quiet table away from the rowdier bar. This place is perfect for casual dining or to watch some sports or simply gaze out the bayfront windows.
Worth a stop if you’re in Hilo town and you’re in the mood for a solid selection of bar/grill food, the burgers at Cronies are great, and big enough that you’re sure to leave some on your plate. The onion rings are fabulous – probably the best you’ll ever have on the Big Island.
