Hula Daddy Kona Coffee

Big Island Guide Travel Guide

The Beginning of Hula Daddy Coffee

Proprietors Lee and Karen Paterson purchased an 11-acre pasture in Kona, Hawaii in 2002 with the determination to create one of the ten best coffees in the world. After planting 7,000 coffee trees, their first crop had promise. When several accolades and positive reviews followed, they invested in a coffee expert and soil consultant which resulted in their Kona Sweet coffee labeled as one of the top six coffees in the world.

In 2008, Lee and Karen purchased an additional 20-acre parcel sloped along the Hualalai Volcano. The crops subsequently planted and harvested were hand-picked for their outstanding taste and variety awarding Hula Daddy Numerous Kona Coffee and Hawaii Coffee Cupping Competition wins. Implementing small batch roasting their coffee is guaranteed fresh roasted 100% Kona Coffee. They only sell coffee that they have grown, picked, processed, and roasted themselves. Additionally, Lee and Karen ensure that they use green farming techniques so that Hula Daddy coffee is an eco-friendly plantation.
