Kona Coffee Guide & Tasting Tours
World-renowned for the quality and consistency of its beans, Kona Coffee alone is worth a trip to the Big Island.
Make a stop at Ka’aloa’s Super J’s if you are craving authentic home cooked Hawaiian food. The lau lau (pork or chicken wrapped in taro leaves) is steamed for 8-10 hours and comes out hot, tender and flavorful. You can add rice or pot/mac salad as a side as well as lomi salmon (tomato salsa with salmon). Another favorite is the Kalua pig and cabbage. All of these are available frozen so you can take them and cook them at home. These dishes are very popular and they do run out before closing time some days. Inside seating is simple long tables and plastic chairs or picnic benches outside. Located right off highway 11 in a yellow building with a small parking lot, don’t miss out on this super friendly family-run business.
