Make a stop at Ka’aloa’s Super J’s if you are craving authentic home cooked Hawaiian food. The lau lau (pork or chicken wrapped in taro leaves) is steamed for 8-10 hours and comes out hot, tender and flavorful. You can add rice or potato/mac salad as a side as well as lomi salmon (tomato salsa with salmon).

Another favorite is the Kalua pig and cabbage. These are available frozen as well so you can take them and cook them at home. These dishes are very popular and they do run out before closing time some days. Seating is simple tables inside or picnic benches outside.
