Kapoho Sunrise Hale – Now Closed
This Property was destroyed by the 2018 Kilauea Volcano Eruption and is now closed.
Pre 2018 Eruption Description
The Kapoho Sunrise Hale, which is located on the waterfront 15 minutes from the centre of Pahoa, will allow you to have a wonderful vacation in Hawaii. The strategically designed home, which is a part of the friendly Kapoho Vacationland Community, is East facing to capture the brilliant, morning sunrise which showcases a sky full of vibrant colours.
The property itself is rather secluded, considering it’s 8 miles from the next town and 30 miles from Hilo airport, but that only increases the relaxation factor and there is still plenty to do nearby. For instance, there’s the Millionaires Hot Ponds just a mile away, and Volcanoes National Park and Kalapana Black Sand Beach just a short distance down the road.
In addition, there’s the renowned Kapoho tide pools (Wai Opae) right below the house’s doorstep, which will allow you to snorkel with turtles and watch fish in their natural habitat. That isn’t the only tidal pool though, as there’s one in the back yard, which is home to scavenging tilapia fish who love food scraps. Within the community, there’s a regular Maku’u Market, and the Isaac Hale Beach Park for body boarding.
As for the Kapoho Sunrise Hale house itself – it is incredibly modern, has 2 bedrooms and will sleep 6 people with the 2 extra single beds. In the master you’ll find a queen-size bed, with its own outdoor lanai area. But, the living room can be considered the most special aspect of the house. This is because it has stunning views across the ocean, and the floor-to-ceiling windows retract, to give you an incredible view of the outdoors while still inside.
There’s also a 600 square-foot lanai, free parking, a range of kitchen appliances, BBQ grill and ceiling fans to protect you from the Hawaiian heat. Plus, you’ll have free Wifi, a 42-inch satellite TV, and a hot tub for you to wind down at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Stay at the Kapoho Sunrise Hale, and you’ll remember it for the rest of your life!
