The main house features access to common room with television, full kitchen, dining room and travelers can choose from either an ocean view king or garden room queen with shared bathroom. Breakfast is included as well, free Wi-Fi and washing machine usage.
The hammock cabanas fall into the primitively posh classification of glamping (glamor + camping). It’s your opportunity to escape from the bustle of a crowded hotel for a more outdoor experience where chirping tree frogs and windward trade winds lullaby you to sleep. Each of the 6 hammock cabanas are on platforms with mosquito netting, rain/privacy guard and hammocks are designed with the option to sleep in a flat or cradled positon.
The Hamakua Guesthouse and Camping Cabanas is located 4 miles from the legendary Akaka Falls State park, 1 mile from the quaint main street of Honomu and 4 miles from Onomea Bay, home of the Hawaii Botanical Gardens. If you seek the excitement of Hawaii’s second largest city, you can drive about 9 miles to Hilo and enjoy local shops, restaurants and art galleries.
