Puna Farmers Markets
Puna is host to several large Farmers Markets offering up some of the island’s best produce, delicious cuisine and handmade crafts.
Located in the renovated 1920’s Kona Bottling building, the M. Field Gallery is run by proprietors Michael and Terry Field. Having first visited during Holualoa Village’s First Friday Art Walk held every first Friday of each month, Field fell in love with the artists’ township. Born in Guam and raised in Hawaii, Michael Field is an accomplished surfer, sailor and canoe paddler, moreover, he is a world-renowned artist.
As you walk into the store you will be struck by Michael Field’s unique style, reminiscent of 1950’s-1960’s pop art with a hint of Deco Streamline Moderne, all celebrating the tropical lifestyle. Whether his subject matter is an ocean paddler, windy pareo, tropic golf, hula or surfer, his artwork is sure to please. If on canvas, hat, t-shirt, board shorts, footwear or hoodie, you will find Michael Field’s signature art design the perfect accompaniment to your wardrobe or art collection.
